White House ReduxWhat if the White House, the ultimate architectural symbol of political power, were to be designed today? In 2008, on the occasion of the election of the 44th President of the United States of America, Storefront for Art and Architecture launched an ideas competition to design a new residence for the world’s most powerful individual. The 487 entries consisting of over 5,135 tabloid-sized sheets were installed on the 47th floor of World Trade Centre 7 for the Jury day creating a white ribbon wrapping the entire building. This installation was followed by a gallery exhibition of the winners and honorable mentions at Storefront for Art and Architecture. Design & Fabrication: Pernilla Ohrstedt (Producer) |
